Virgin Soul #05 — Repetition And Review

May 5th, 2017

So, nothing's going to actually happen until episode 11, isn't it?

Impressions:

A complete, unabashed, shamless waste of an episode and twenty-two minutes of my life. People went shopping, played dressup, re-re-re-RE-established that demons are the enslaved underclass, and re-re-re-established that the mysterious kid with mysterious powers is indeed the mysterious kid that the angels are searching for. Then, for the second half, they had tea, reviewed that humans are the ruling class, and re-re-re-re-re-RE-established that the mysterious kid with mysterious powers is indeed the mysterious kid that the angels are searching for. Jesus tapdancing Christ, MAPPA. What the hell was the point of this episode? "Things were different in the past, so let's spend an entire episode reiterating that, despite much of the past four episodes having also been spent doing so." The only progress towards anything was one character finding out about the kid, something the audience already knew a goddamned month ago. And that only happened in literally the last two seconds of the episode. Everything else is just padding and having tea.
