Ange Vierge #08 — Third Verse, Same as the First

August 27th, 2016

A little bit louder and a little bit worse.

Impressions:

There's episodic, there's formulaic, and there's so chained to your structure that everything else falls by the wayside. It's not even a good structure either. The first quarter of each two episode character 'arc' is completely identical every single time, and it's always just utterly wasted nothingness. Expecting anything else from this show at this point would be dumb though, so here we are. Take the post I wrote from two weeks ago, or four weeks ago, and substitute "robot girl" for "vampire girl" or "angel girl" and you've got this one. Five minutes of faffing around/cleanup from last week, five minutes of flashbacks to how awesome frozen girl is for being an undiagnosed clinical sociopath, five minutes of baths, and five minutes of the evil-infected girl ranting about how she's totally evil now while her uninfected compatriot gasps in shock that she is evil before kind of losing, but not actually because nobody really tried, before coming back next week and winning with friendship power.

I keep wondering why studios keep churning out trashy shows like this, and I remembered it’s for the male otaku crowd.

I can only wonder what will happen to the cute girl genre once its target audience decides to get bored of it.

Pffffffhhahahahahahahahaahahahahahahaaaaa… no, no, no, as long as there’s a boy entering puberty and to awkward (or lazy) to talk to an actual girl there will ALWAYS be an audience for this trash.
