Utawarerumono 2 #18 — Check Out These Feet

February 6th, 2016

Yes, that was the most notable thing about this episode.

Impressions:

Another basically budgetless episode that spent all its effort on shenanigans, and barely had any effort for that. And yet, it was preferable to the first half, which was little more than some talking heads, at one point monologuing to a goddamned empty room, and one part where I swear, Somehow-Hasn't-Died-Yet-To-Become-The-Mentor-Martyr-Figure-To-Spur-Them-To-Do-Whatever stared unblinkingly into thin air for close to five seconds. Then again, the second half did have a particularly dumb 'comical' montage of looking for Kuon and baking, so neither half was really acceptable.

I guess that brief flurry of almost-competence about a month ago was too much for them, because everything has ground to a total halt and the budget has gone in the toilet since then. Anyway, here's a pan over of some feet and tails. That's what everyone's watching for, right? Feet and tails? Now you're excited for next week when, for the third time in as many months, there might be an episode where someone does something, although since the preview is half a slow zoom in on the goddamned bird, probably not.

Next Episode:

Are you kidding me with the bird?

It’s funny you mention he might die because I can see that happen and I’m already calling it bullshit because he’ll probably go down with an arrow to the knee when he apparently took down like 1,009 soldiers by himself.
    That’s always how these go.

    • Aroduc says:

I expected it about 15 episodes ago. Especially since this doesn’t seem to have a single original thought in its body, so all it can do is repeat things from the first series and pad crap out.

  • Sanjuro says:

It’s hard to believe this has had 18 episodes.

  • anise_punter says:

This has reached the point where ‘what it’s done with itself compared to the original series’ annoys me more than Komugi does, and that has required sitting through four episodes of Komugi.
