School-Live #07 — Oh No! Basic Math!

August 20th, 2015

The Count is disappointed with your lack of education.

Impressions:

So after spending three months, half the damn show’s run, in a flashback that added nothing, it’s time to move on, right? It’s the blessed time when they’re going to start setting up the final arc for the characters, right? Don’t be ridiculous. We’re going to spend another episode wallowing in feelings and the past, with copious flashbacks all over the place while they all reminisce.

More and more, it looks like they’re just going to be padding things out to make talking about Pink’s delusion and her overcoming it for friendship the only thing for the entire series. Hell, the only even vaguely notably thing about this episode was her thinking back to the car ride home, and having a panic attack when she started counting the number of people that were in the car. That’s it. That was the ‘big moment’ of the episode. “Wait a minute. I know how to count to four!” And it came about ten minutes in. The rest was spent harassing winged rats, doing arts and crafts, reminiscing, and having flashbacks.

Next Episode:

Next week, the villain is the multiplication tables.

5 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

    Hey – it’s a Cute-Girls-Doing-Stupid-Things show… were you expecting a Zombie Apocalypse?

More seriously, It’s a gimmick show – you and I both realized it at the very first episode. Only you decided to follow it in the vain hope that it might become something else.

Equally masochistic, I’ve decided to stick with the train wreck that “Gatchaman Clowns Insipid” has become, so in that sense, I’m not much better off than you. (But at least I can hope to see Hajime’s boobs… lol )

    • Opulent Rag says:

Y’know, I think that’s what pisses me off about current anime; even when they have a unique or interesting premise or “gimmick, in this case little girls in a zombie apocalypse, they ruin it by molding it into more streamlined shlock. In this case, it HAS to be another dumb, well, slice of life schoolgirl club moe show because reasons.

Hell, the last zombie anime turned in to another boring harem plot with some bland male

I blame the rise of the LNs. Get them in the door, and then… STATUS QUO UNTIL THIS ROCK HAS BEEN BLED DRY!

  • v1cious says:

The manga is great. The problem is the anime is trying to cram all this exposition down our throats. It’s not necessary, and it’s taking up too much time.

  • Chipp says:

You should check the OP for this episode though. I guess that’s another highlight for this episode.
