Impressions:

This is how you repay me. That awful beach episode last week, and now a multi-part arc where part 1 consisted almost entirely of filler. Like usual, I can see how they could have made a decent episode out of various parts here, but everything goes unrealized. An outright raid on Evil Wizard along with fully exposing Whose-Her-Face’s connection and past with them and/or Maia stalking Akira as he goes about his weird life while adding her own weirdness to it and fighting people in costumes… Either one of these could have been fully realized episodes on their own. Instead, they flirt with both, decide to do neither, have people sit around and talk and talk and talk, and push the resolution of just one of them off to next week. Great. So much for even keeping things ‘moving’ by being episodic.
