The Rolling Girls #05 — Ready, Set, Do Nothing!

Steady… Steady… Steady…
As mentioned, the Japanese broadcast was a bit delayed. This is… just quicker and easier for me. Even with all the errors.Â
Impressions:
I think this arc may be even more of a narrative mess than the last one. There’s the new girl, who has chronic man problems, but there’s also some random cafe guy who’s her biggest superfan or something, and all she wants in life is to stop being a disappointment to her father and give her magic rock back to her boyfriend, who happens to be the mysterious taxi service Racer X, who some people need to get to sign some forms to have a proper gang fight or something, which is about the closest thing that this episode came to a joke.
Anyway, the new area is motorcycle/racing themed, which you’d think would lead to a Speed Racer or Initial D parody or something, but that would obviously require too much thought and/or something happening. Once again, the main characters do jack all, simply bumble from one place to the next to listen to various people blather at them, although that seems to be a trait shared by all the characters since they threw out the only two decent ones. Who am I supposed to root for when the antagonist continues to be “being too insecure to do anything?”
