Aldnoah.Zero #13 — The More Things Never Ever Change…

I am shocked. Shocked, I say!

Impressions:

So, yeah. Nobody died. Not even the antagonists. The closest is the princess, who’s now living her life as Slaine’s personal lava lamp, but since she put her magic into Eggboy, he lived and is now also the ship’s battery. Oh, and he’s also a cyborg now, because Jesus Christ. I’m about 99% certain that he’ll simply transfer her magic back to her as soon as they’re in the same room. Because, you know, magic.

Also, how is the war still going on a year and a half later? First, they were helpless without Inaho. They couldn’t even beat Chill Penguin this episode without his plan of “Shoot, rush straight at him, and shoot some more.” It must have been the babbling. Second, didn’t they nuke/invade literally the entire planet at the start of the first season and then go on a mass suicide charge at the end with the resistance’s only ships?

Anyway, writing’s still a total disaster, but not nearly as much fun as Ange’s kind of disaster since the characters here are about 90% bread pudding and almost all the twists have been “Someone dies… but not really!” It’s still sucking off Inaho, and the cliffhanger of “Everybody dies” being revealed to be “Actually, nobody dies at all,” seems like a good enough excuse to excuse myself before it pretends to kill him and the princess another four times.

    Well, i predict for my own, that something of that can happen. But that Slain did not Kill the Count, was not in my Crystal ball, and the (Ass pull) 2nd Hime-sama. Well why? We got no signs in the 1st Season, and Princess should be the Only Daughter. But somehow they found a Half-sister… Perhaps of the younger days of the King… Or Cloning of Blood cells or something medic advance (side effect could explain the Wheelchair and her poor condition)

    Princess get shoot, and Slain took her to, because their Medics are far more advance. They can hold the Old King so long alive

    We speculated about Inhao. But a Hit into the Left Eyeball from this distance.. Should it not penetrate the Skull? Oh well, Pistol perhaps was not that strong for it.

    But Slain kneel in front of Count. I fear, Slain want the Princess all for himself. He is jealous of Orange. Because Hime-same loves him, why not him?

    Oh well, somehow they need a red line for 2nd season. And looks like for Slain it is the betrayal of Hime-sama, and he want to kill Humanity now for revenge. He will be get forcible if he knows that Inaho survived, and even can activate the Drive. Because even that this Shitty Hime-sama betrayer has it, what he do not have. So more Rage

    Slain will walk deeper the Dark Path, Inaho took a step (Hime-sama is all MINE!) up on the Light side, and gain a bit social skills (fan demands i bet)

    This time, we saw a “Absolute Zero Temperature” Mecha But would he not even freeze the Air? Perhaps he can guide it somehow through micro-micro on atom level forcefields, prevent the electron to move. But anyhow this is history now. But specs for a Book maybe

    The bullet hit where his personality was supposed to be. The characters (and writers) didn’t know he never had one so gave him a robot eye. Cause robot eye = personality right?

    While Inaho surviving is a cop-out, the thought of Slaine being the main character is too horrible for everyone involved.

    The more intriguing question should be how did the loli maid end up back on Mars?
