Limited Blade Works #10 — *gasp* *gasp* *gasp* *gasp*

Budget getting tight? Or director got bored?

Impressions:

The first half was perhaps more boring than usual for the action-less parts of this show. I physically winced when Rin barged into their little clubroom. There was a pause between Issei’s reaction to the door slamming open before he jumped up and shouted in surprise that was bad enough, and then another pause after that before Shirou repeated the surprised shout. It makes me really, truly wonder if they just set the VN on autoplay and decided to simply build up animation around that. I also swear that the only reason characters move from point A to point B is so that the artists have different bits of detritus to draw and then pan over while characters drone on.

At least the second half (more like fifth sixth) was somewhat better than usual, or at least the action had a point and didn’t involve wailing on CGI skeletons for once in a long while. I have no idea where those reaction stills came from, but they were hilariously awful. The fight, for once, did a good job of showing off Kuzuki without a ton of obnoxious narration. Which isn’t to say it couldn’t have been much better either, mainly by stuffing a ball gag so far down Shirou’s throat you could pull it out his ass. I enjoyed how everyone stopped everything that they were doing to just watch like a peanut gallery, and instead of reaching any kind of climax to the fight, the whole thing utterly fizzled out when Shirou got his first real erection projection and then passed out from the strain of over-grunting himself.

If you’re reading this, then I’ve forgotten to change the template.
