Yada Yada Vanadis #01 — Beware the Hover Horse

October 4th, 2014

Somehow, that was the ‘exciting’ part of the episode.

Impressions:

I think they realized how bloody boring the episode was and messing with chronology at the start was their half-assed way to try to cover it up. It didn’t work, and ended up creating a particularly bizarre first half where it started on a hook far less interesting than they clearly expected it to be, flashed back from that after the OP to about three minutes before what they just showed (which included Hover Horse lifting off for no explicable reason), and then compounded that with another dream flashback for another five minutes before getting back to where the ‘exciting’ hook left us.

Like What’s-It’s-Face yesterday, it’s trying to be a number of things, but substiture half-assed T&A for comedy. And by do, I mean “not do” because almost the entire episode is talking heads standing around talking. Despite supposedly being full of soldiers, some magical, fighting battles and wars, about five seconds of action was all they could muster up and the rest was spent pissing around. I think it might actually be improved if it was a little sluttier. Maybe then the random close-up tit jiggles, blushing, and walking in on naked girls wouldn’t reek as badly of clueless desperation.

I don’t know what the draw is supposed to be here. If it’s the battles, those hardly existed. If it’s the T&A, that existed even less. There’s just blandy McGeneric stumbling about various encampments.

Feh. OP blocked on things. Here if you want it.

i have nothing against Well busted Strong Womens in a Fantasy Anime. But then, dont make the Males ones looking pathetic only looking to their cheat and crouch section, and be complete assholes or winy emos

Is that comment directed at this show in particular, or just a general complaint? From what I’ve seen so far (Mind you it’s just one episode) this sure isn’t Freezing. The male lead has a solid spine and skills to back it up.

I expected nothing and liked it a little. It has potential I think. And that little dragon falling into the water made me smile a teeny bit. Plus you know, boobs.

I bet I’ll despise it by episode 5.
