Nourin #04 — Where It’s Always 2004

And getting older.

Impressions:

I wonder if by the end of this, it’s going to be making YTMND jokes. As we proceed backward past Death Note through Phoenix Wright and Yaranaika, it’s probably only a matter of time. If they were at least ballsy about it, that’d be something. I’m pretty sure at least half the staff here was involved with Pani Poni Dash and that had it out the wazoo. Channel that instead of four or five morose references an episode. Again, not jokes. References. References that didn’t even fit. Maybe that’s what the joke was supposed to be.

As for the episode itself, it was a melodramatic affair about feeeeeeeeeeeeelings. It gave up completely on even trying to be funny at all for the last third or so (extra long too thanks to no ED!) with all the graceful execution of a hippo trying to do tap. I’m pretty sure that the artists stopped caring at that point too because with the lack of anything happening visually came a number of faces attacked by the blob monster.

God, I miss the comedy of the show already.

    I can’t believe I just said that.

And that’s probably the least shitty thing Silver Link ever made.

  • Fate says:

The Jimmy Hendrix joke was amazing. What are you people upset about.

this is the best anime this season which isn’t saying much, but least the humour is palatable plus the childhood friend is a piece of crap in a tweener type of way
