Magical Warfare #03 — Threats of Sexual Violence
January 23rd, 2014

It’s the lack of a penis that makes Takeshi non-threatening, isn’t it?
Impressions:
There’s no way that I’m going to do three episodes after work again this season, so let’s begin Thursday with the show that already very obligingly had its head through the hangman’s noose, and with this episode, has been jumping up and down on the rickety stool. The thing that really stood out to me in this episode was that they couldn’t even spring for tarot cards for the fortune telling sequence. Who the hell uses regular playing cards? And yes, that’s about all that stood out because like last week, about the height of excitement was an impromptu lecture on how the magical organizations are named slightly different things from Harry Potter’s.
Anyway, it was an episode about blondie. She’s moody and insecure, and we can only explore this through overtures of sexual violence, flashbacks and exposition, which only the sponge that is the male lead can treat because… well, that’s never really explained. Simply existing is apparently reason enough. It’s not even explained in the past either. He’s just the super special one who heals all. This is also apparently the reason that their family has no lights in their house and broods all the time. Well, something about a car too, but who even cares?
It’d take a very special attempt by either Sakura Trick or KLK for me to give this anything more than a cursory look next week.Â
Next Episode:
Hair in eyes.

This show sounds like something that needs to be thrown against a wall.
