Unbreakable Machine Doll #09 — British Surströmming

Isn’t that a safety risk?

Impressions:

Oh boy. The identical not-twin sister. Wandering around being comically suicidal, except when it’s not supposed to be a joke and should be taken seriously. When? Flip a coin. Heads, laugh. Tail, be emotional or something. Other than those bits of uncomfortable nonsense and a few hi-larious jokes about (exceptionally tiny) panties and being a pervert, no big surprises here. Another introductory episode for the new arc, which means that it’s time to go back to meandering between NPCs getting blabbered at, in the futile hope that I’ll retain a tenth of this next week after half-napping through all the blathering heads. Somehow, I think carpet bombing with a dragon and suicidal sister is all I’ll remember, and even that’s pushing it considering how uninteresting both were being. You don’t need to devote entire episodes to exposition, people. You can build your greater plot while still having structure and purpose self-contained to the episode, guys. It’s not going to kill you.

4 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

I’m impressed by how each new arc manages to be worse than the previous one. I guess this was bound to happen since the formula doesn’t go beyond “add new pointless girl to the gang”. Which is still better than Loki.

  • The Phantom says:

Although good, it seems that the plot went to the backseat to follow an add a girl to the harem formula each arc.

Is still among the better things airing though, at least the MC is not absolutely retarded and dense like ichika.

    • Speedyshadow says:

What is this Ichika you speak of? Is it some kind of worthless rock 500km down under the surface that all girls crave but can never obtain because of the density of the rocks surrounding it called ignorance?

      • The Phantom says:

Ihey should replace ichika for an asexual sponge or a mute shadow and the show would be less irritating and more believable.

Heck I have been thinking all around that ichika is a reverse trap clone, that would fit perfectly with the show.
