Why is it always on its side?
Impressions:
I do remember this being one of the inane directorial quirks of the series, but I don’t remember it being nearly this obnoxious. Maybe it’s those ‘fond’ memories I have of the show that are coloring my judgement. Anyway, after a basically unrelated first half montage of the cast, and I use ‘half’ only to indicate that it’s before the eyecatch because it’s only about 5 minutes long, they unseal a pervert mummy by pressing their tits against a sarcophagus, it possesses Issei until it’s completely unsealed, and then the typical pseudo tentacling of the girls and exploding clothing ensues.
I think someone’s notes got mixed up though, as the only real difference once he was possessed is that his voice and eye color changed. Come on, Japan. Overplay the joke. "He’s a pervert who likes to see barely clothed women dance" is not a joke. And when you’re going to screw with the framerate so all her flesh is bouncing disturbingly quickly, it just gets creepy in all the wrong ways. Why would you even skip over that so quickly? The stripper dancing ED is like… the one notable thing about this show. And when it came time to do exactly that in the show itself, you screwed it up completely to spend a frankly bizarre amount of effort on bandage-tentacle cheesecake shots. TNK, what the living hell are you even doing?
Next Episode:
Next season blah blah blah.

It’s a deutsch angle. It’s used a lot because elevens seem to like it.
