Impressions:

It was a Naoe episode. I hate Naoe.

It was also an utterly generic "overhears something, runs away, learns, gets power up and learns true meaning of CPR friendship." Which makes it especially bizarre that this would be the first episode they put a little effort into actually animating the fight. Not for Naoe, mind you. For the few seconds of the monkey attacking. Maybe even more so that Muneakira went straight to CPR without anybody throwing a fit over touching her chest or ‘kissing’ her. And since it didn’t activate until she was awake and realized what was going on, I’m just going to assume that the whole Master Samurai thing is actually activated by them sticking their tongues into his mouth, not the other way around. It was still eight levels of overly corny with her mistaking him for an angel and random stop-time inner thoughts in the middle of things, not that I ever expect this show to rise above what it is, but there was a brief few minutes in this episode when it at least threatened to. It also probably is not a point in the show’s favor that her big power up was turning her hammer into a top.
