Senran Kagura #10 — The Spy Who Knew Too Little

March 10th, 2013

The radioactive water probably explains the tumors.

Impressions:

There’s this shot about seven minutes into the episode where Hibari’s crawling along the ground while a guard stands on the ceiling. Then the camera flips around to show that Hibari’s crawling on the ceiling and the guard’s on the ground. At first, I just shook my head, then I started thinking and realized that this may have very well been the most creative and inspired moment of directing in the entire show to date. That’s… That’s certainly a thought.

Anyway, exceptionally boring setup episode for the finale. Twenty minutes to get the good guys to the entrance of Snakeville and to dump Hibari in prison for continuing to be terrible at everything she does besides headbutting trees to mark them with her scent. I think that’s the only thing she did right in this entire affair and it’s not even clear that was on purpose. At least Team Evil seems to understand the point of cheesecake bath scenes, even if they couldn’t seem to make up their mind whether the water should be translucent or glowing like a minor supernova.

Preview:

Speedlines and whatnot.

Of all character they had to focus on Hibari….

What a waste, Homura or Hikage would have been better choices.

You forgot to mention the magical disappearing towels they had while they were taking a bath.
