Problem Children #06 — Shining Wizard

Some day I’ll figure out why Japan latched onto that particular wrestling move.

Sorry I’m a little late. Overslept.

Impressions:

For an episode that was basically them just screwing around, surprisingly not bad. I have no idea why, but this was probably the most effort they spent in a sequence through the show’s whole run so far and it was for basically kind of a glorified game of tag. Maybe it’s best to just not question what the hell the makers are thinking. Not that I’d call it good either, but it was a step or four up from the budgetary quagmire that this show usually occupies. There was a brief return to the chemistry between Izayoi and Asuka from waaaaaaaay back in the first episode that I quite liked too.

Buuuuuut a good 80% or so of this episode was just the usual talking heads rambling on about very little of note which turns to buzzing in my ears as they blather about the nomenclature of jack o lanterns and other crap. It may as well be replaced by looping the ED dance sequence for its contributions to the plot and characters. Japan’s ability to fill up space with absolutely nothing always amazes me.

I seem to remember they had a particular affection for German Suplexes a while back too. Oh Japan.

This is quite possible the only show I am following from this season, this season has sucked so much.. is either a fucking loli show or fanservice show or a mix of both, is that all that is left from anime these days?.

At least we are getting a devil survivor adaptation soon.
