Good Job Club #06 — “I Met Samurai”

February 13th, 2013

This show’s obsession with hair brushing is beginning to become disturbing.

Impressions:

Despite the glut of new characters this episode, the largest single chunk of screentime any of them got was spent on brushing one’s hair. And we also got to repeat the whole "Mao acts like his little sister" thing for a large chunk of the episode too, just to continue the trend of recycling things in lieu of having an original thought. So no, it has not yet found the same energy, animation, or delivery that made the humor work in the first couple episodes and I spent a large portion of it basically napping, although Seira’s theme was making that rather difficult. For a show that has usually done a good job with the music so far, that sounded like they just brought a tape recorder into an elevator and decided to call that a background track.
