Ixion Saga DT #12 — Sad Boys Getting Drunk

December 23rd, 2012

Needs more drunk, less sad piano.

FYI, AKB0048’s winter continuation had a preairing special of the first episode, but since it’s a direct continuation/sequel, I’m content to ignore it. Especially since it had no OP and just a credit roll/clips ED. Also, new GoD Trial is out for people who care about such. Haven’t gotten a chance to prod at it yet, but hopefully it’s better than the first.

Impressions:

Wow. They’re seriously running with this "two of the main characters are dead" ‘plot.’ Which begs the question, "Why?" And begs even more questions as to why, when it seems like they’re finally… after twenty minutes… when team non-ambiguously gay (which I am aware is both sides) slips out of site, the music starts going nuts, etc, they just run off to a funeral for flashbacks, sad pianos, and more. The comedy’s not good, but replacing it with bad melodrama that nobody could possibly buy, bookended need I remind you by men shouting "LET’S GO ED" and a buffet of men, you are only making matters so much worse than they need to be.

The show’s off next week too, and with multiple other fantasy shows starting up after that, including one that already has a Dynasty Warriors clone in the works, the future where I continue covering this is looking poor.

Preview:

Oh hey, recycled footage.

4 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

  • ZakuAbumi says:

Considering you’re still writing about this, giving the sequel of a singing battle idols show a few lines doesn’t even sound that bad.

    • Aroduc says:

Full disclosure. I didn’t notice it until around 1:30am last night, and the CG idol dancing as I flipped through spooked me further.

  • algorithm says:

And then it will be revealed much, much later that DT is alive thanks to the mirror trick.

  • Athos says:

Fully expecting them to go for the Untwist.

Yep, they smashed the mirror, but somehow died anyways. Roll credits.
