Tales of Symphonia #11 — Bwa!

November 24th, 2012

Ye lords.

The DVD was actually released over a month ago. This is the first copy I could get my mitts on, and even then, I wasn’t paying attention so I’m a few days late. On the other hand, I think the previous episode still isn’t subbed in English. Oh well. At least it’s not a Chinese RMVB. And no, I have no idea where Seizon is today. Apparently it’s one of those days where the netcast isn’t going to be up for 18+ hours.

Impressions:

It feels like an end of an era for this thing to finally be over. Maybe because it’s been over five goddamned years. It also feels exceedingly anticlimactic. The fights were both decent enough, but A.) everything else was either just lame and/or pithy as hell, and B.) shoehorning on the Kratos/Lloyd stuff AFTER the last boss fight was just ridiculous. Particularly all the flashbacks of Lloyd trying to prove his "I’m gonna protect everyone!" spiel. That would have made a little more sense if it had come, you know, BEFORE having saved the world, not after it. "I need to prove that I’m a big boy now because… uhhhhh… daddy issues?" Maybe Origin was making him feel a bit inadequate. UFOTable did absolutely nothing to make that stuff flow better or be less pulled out of the story’s ass at any rate.

And… uh… it’s over! Complete with generic as hell epilogue and comical Zelllooooosss moment to end things. Oi.

Meh. After half a day, I just assume leave the main rss feeds to alert me while I’m doing other stuff. Far too much noise there.
      Very well.

I remember when I first played the game in, like, 2005, and thought it was awesome.
Then I played it years later and realized how awful it was. Not as bad as Graces though. Sure hope that never gets an anime.
