Soap Opera Nonsense #06 — Getting Bitterer By the Week

November 12th, 2012

I miss when this show at least tried to be funny.

Impressions:

That’s not very fair to soap operas actually. From my understanding, at least they have crap that actually happens. Someone’s half-brother will be sleeping with their ex-wife in order to steal the rights to the family tin mine from El Guapo Largo or something along those lines. Here, the melodrama just continues unabated. By the halfway point, it sort of had an excuse, but before that, it was just them standing around getting insecure because the existential crisis of being a teenager was too much pressure for people to stand.

But yeah, after the halfway point, it ‘shifted’ to Aoyama running herself so thin that she got the plague, or as it’s known in the US, the common cold, thus putting her life and all her dreams in total jeopardy requiring the entire team to work together to get her… out of the house while the dramatic music flares. God only knows how many violins they would have needed if the entire team had worked together to do something useful, like get her advil. And in case that wasn’t dramatic enough, it started raining.

Maybe there will be a thunderstorm next time.

  • The Phantom says:

This anime started pretty good, now is a freaking melodrama all over the place.

  • EXM says:

Sort of have to agree with you on this one Aroduc. Aoyama really isn’t really the type of character you need to dedicate 2 full episodes to.

  • Big d says:

this show is just plain bad crappy drama and cheesy lets save the day together drama nothing good bout this cant believe it got 24 episodes o wait i can japan likes shit.

  • Dr. Dust Cell says:

I’d rather you stick with Little Busters if you’re tolerating DRAMA..

  • Knowngni says:

Excedrin would have been better. Single Dose (2 Tablets) is the equivalent of popping a tylenol, aspirin, and a cup of coffee. (acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine) It also kicks in pretty fast (usually around 30 minutes after taking it)

Meant for migraines but would help counter the fever and help with the heavy drag feeling along with her exhaustion.
