I have no idea what the numbering should be and it’s too late at night for me to bother anyway.

This was actually out about a week ago, so of course the first way it appears online is a week later in decent quality with Chinese hardcoded on it. Could be worse. Could be closed captioned Korean.

Impressions:

Somewhat disappointing, and I say that having completely forgotten about its existence until about… an hour ago. For starters, how do you put Haruka in a succubus outfit and then just… nothing? Or get her drunk in a white sweater and just have her be flushed then hung over? Or zoom in on her lacy unmentionables but not have them on her? If you want to titillate, then titillate. Yes, I know the primary purpose is to just reseed the show’s awareness before handing it over to feel for the next season, but it’s an OVA for pete’s sake. Put a little effort in somewhere, even if it’s just some skin. Hidamari outsexed you. Hidamari.

And no, Hosaka having a lounge singing delusion doesn’t count, although it helps. Yuka also got one of her cutesy little moron segments towards the end. Those two were probably the highlights of the episode. Well, the Halloween bit wasn’t bad either, I guess. Or perhaps it was just about as good as I remember season 3 being, and I barely remember season 3 at all. The OVA probably would’ve been better served if it had cut out the entire dull segment after the ED though. Ugh. Way to end on a strong joke. Otherwise, the same as usual. They laugh, they love, they Trick or XXX, they get drunk and ‘hide and seek’ dressed in sweaters before stripping down for summer not 5 minutes later and fanning themselves into comas, etc. I think that’s the usual. Honestly, I really don’t even remember. My strongest memories of the past seasons of Minami-ke mostly comprise an intense hatred of the angsty season 2 brat.
