Seriously. There were like, forty people watching him. Where’d everybody go? Where’s the love for spectacle?

Impressions:

They did a little better job showing that Chisato went a tad nutter-butters over her brother’s death this week, actually calling Yuuki his name and obsessing over siblings she saw playing, which does in turn help support his refusal of a relationship with her, but this is still something that should’ve come before, not after. Their fight at the end over Aomi’s stuff just cemented more that she has issues about the men in her life ‘leaving’ her. The rest of the random encounters for the first half seemed designed to piss her off by alluding to his shogi night in indistinct ways and Yuuki wasn’t helping either. The surefire way to piss someone off is by repeatedly insisting that they’re mad. If they weren’t before, then they will be after that. At least she hasn’t taken a headlong plunge into angstville after being rejected… yet. The cliffhanger at the end was also a little ridiculous given the next episode preview. …And I must admit that I laughed when they cut off the ED lead-in for extra dramatic screeching wheels and "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!". Probably not the reaction they were going for.

The rest wasn’t particularly great. Like Aomi’s stuff before, was just a tad machinated. I mean it’s not like he was on a screen rambling to a giant crowd of people and was interrupted by bullying even louder than him and then ran off in the middle of it. Apparently instead of attracting attention, the entire crowd disappeared at that point. The political stuff continues to not interest me much since about 95% of it feels like they’re just making random things up as they go, and ‘Random Girl’ who happens to have a unique character design and run into him out of nowhere being… SURPRISE, not so random… and more super secret plotting! was just really bad.
