The Woman Named Fujiko Mine #06 — What a Twist!

May 9th, 2012

Did someone gas the writer’s room this week?

Impressions:

Not to second guess Fujiko’s master plan here, but it seems like sneaking into a school of rich spoiled lesbians and seducing them is a whole lot of time and effort for a simple pendant snatch and grab. Esepcially for a woman known to casually attempt to murder her friends and allies. Are we really that scared of teenage girls? And then we have the surprise twist about a third of the way through where it turns out the girl being seduced/bullied was secretly Zenigata’s effeminate lackey who’s in love with him and had long before begun dressing as her and taken her identity. And let’s keep in mind that there was an entire montage about them apparently seducing each other too. For the payoff of… kneeing her in the gut. He then stripped her naked, strapped her to the bed, and poured wine all over her. And this is just the first half.

So we begin the second with Fujiko having a surreal dream about owlmen observing her. If that’s a metaphor for something, I have no idea what. Lupin shows up to the mix as part of Whose-His-Face’s Master Plan, and the entire spoiled rich girl squad goes from cutting hair off to carrying SMGs, explained by another surprise twist that they’re all madly in love with the crossdresser, will do anything for him, and were in on the plan all along. So if you’ve been trying to follow along, he has complete sexual control somehow over the school, and what he did with that was to concoct a plot lasting days, pretend to both be bullied and fall in love with her, all so that the moment she tried to have sex with him, he could coldcock her. Government spending at its finest. And let’s not forget the endgame of the master plan. Use submachines to chase Lupin into a greenhouse, then leave him alone inside it, gas it, and walk away in triumph. Greenhouses being known for being impenetrable airtight cages afer all.

And at the master stroke moment, Fujiko calls in to say that she already stole the pendant awhile ago along and while she explains her own master plan, we also get the sounds of her pleasuring Zenigata again. Fantabulous. It was not… how to say… a particularly sensical episode. More amusing than most, but in that Guilty Crown "Did someone really get paid to write this?" kind of way.
