Oh, is it episode #04? I was confused because they kept cutting back to #03.

Impressions:

So much for progress. This episode was so slow that it was actually going backwards at points. Did we really need not one, not two, not three, not four but five flashbacks to every single important event from last week? FIVE. My god. How poor do you think your audience’s memory is? Or maybe alternatively, how small a budget does this show have that it needs to recycle that much footage. The prize for the most inane attempts at tension goes to Neris for nearly drowning herself by getting stuck under the box they were trying to salvage. Why was that even in there? What purpose did it serve?

Anyway, mysterious box filled with more mysterious boxes, Xiaomei gets them to help dredge it up, seized by the royal whose-its. QED. Entirety of episode summarized minus all the goddamned flashbacks. I’m not entirely certain why using a mechanized winch made the rope stronger though. Or why nobody in the town seemed to be particularly bothered about the pirate fleet that was en route to attacking them last night… or the two gigantic explosions for that matter, one of them carving a hole in the side of their island. They’re probably stuck in NPC conversation loops.
