Thief Opera Milky Holmes #21 — Kokoro’s Idle Day

March 1st, 2012

Thursdays have gotten entirely too stupid.

Impressions:

Same old, same old for this season. I miss the first season when it had central plots to each episode and the humor was mostly incidental to what was going on instead of just shooting off in random new directions every couple minutes along with almost every single joke being a non sequitur. Guilty Crown gives me more than enough of that, thank you very much, and it’s so much better at using them for comedic effect too. If this would just settle down a little bit and actually develop the potentially humorous situations it starts, like the gang dressing up and trying to act out being the thieves, it’d be much improved. Instead, they’re just used for a weak one-shot sight gag and then that bit is totally forgotten again because another shiny object appeared.

Anyway, this was broadly about Kokoro simultaneously screwing with Milky Holmes as well as annoying the other members of G4 who are trying to have their own lives. Zenigata’s involves being a crazy cat lady. Then when she made them steal a case from ‘police’, it ended up that they were kidnappers dressed up as police with some singer stuffed in the box. There was a brief bit about them trying to start a new detective school/daycare, but like many things, completely forgotten once some keys were dangled in front of the screen. Moriarty also vanished as abruptly as she appeared, only to show up again at the end and then dominate the preview. I’m not sure if that means they’ll actually be using her for anything next week or not. Probably not.

Preview:

Moriarty vs the world.

So let me get this straight:

Cordelia impersonates Twenty…only for her to NOT impersonate him by possibly showing her nipples?!

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU–

I can’t believe this! An episode without Twenty? And Moriarty finally appears??? Holy s-et!
