Twin Thief Angels #06 — Built By Dr. Wily

Didn’t we already have this episode?

Impressions:

Well, I’ve given up on this ever actually becoming good, and it’s settled into the pity coverage area reserved for aggressively mediocre shows like Koihime and Polyphonica where I’m doing it mostly to spite the rest of the blog-o-sphere and those who come here under the mistaken belief that any show being blogged about must be awesome amazo super great. It’s still a pity though because the show does show rare wit once or twice almost every episode, but it feels like there’s just one good writer on the team who is being drowned out by a bunch of twits. This, however, would not be one of the stand out episodes. Hell, I thought the whole bonding crap with Kurumi and Haruka was already over and done with.

So even for this show, a weak episode. Partner spat with partners who didn’t get along at the start and bonded once already, go through strange training at the behest of a Misty Bear, then decide to have their own training to spite him instead. I’m fairly sure that montage was a whole bunch of references to… something… but I’m not entirely sure what. And of course, the end resuls of their training is a super team work attack… which they didn’t get to use because Aoi had already figured out that the otherwise invulnerable mech’s weak point was the giant flashing light on the front and any impact to it makes the whole thing fall apart. Although I’m also fairly sure that the fleshy unprotected person standing on top of it probably also qualifies as a weak point.

I’ve only watched ep 2 of this crap for obvious reasons, I need a replacement for Qwaser II, Yuruyuri just keeps pulling me back in, never will I watch Sacred or T&B and I’m hoping Penguindrum doesn’t crap on my expectations of it being a good show.

Must be frustrating to watch a show that can easily be better if there was just more effort put into making the show as watchable as possible. Especially when the show has such a generic setup but still has enough angles to get some potentially good comedy out of it.

    My condolences.
