Couldn’t help myself.

Impressions:

Not exactly a terribly exciting episode this week. There’s the surprising reveal that Kenmi may be a little less good than previously expected. And here I was thinking that Night’s flashbacks about being strapped down and experimented on along with his hatred of Kenmi were just a red herring and he really resented Kenmi for always beating him at the 4-H guinea pig breeding competition. Boy, do I have egg on my face. The show’s still rather overall directionless though. It would be nice if they actually started building him or Night up as an actual antagonist here though. Neither of them are particularly menacing and the closest anything’s come to actually menacing Arma after transformation was Night making him get his hand suck in the floor way back in episode 3 or so.

And that’s about all that happened this week besides the new OP (with the old OP taking the place of the ED). Arma finds Ruri, gets a plot dump from Night, then a rock monster literally falls in out of nowhere for them to fight with Kenmi tagging along to attack and taunt Night instead of the berserk brother-rock-monster-thing before the status quo is restored. It was competent enough action, but last week’s was still far better, and not just for the lack of doggy ears. I can’t remember if Arma’s used that exact icon on his megabuster before either. It was a single scarf slash, so… who even knows or cares. I’m still waiting for rock-eye-beams, and I don’t even know how that would work.
