A Bridge to the Starry Sky #10 — Yawn

June 12th, 2011

Wake me up when someone’s giving themself a spongebath again.

Impressions:

It’s so unpleasant going from OreTuba’s writing to this. Especially in an episode that is just plainly hamhanded and stupid instead of interestingly hamhanded and stupid. Dogakobo really should have realized at this point that it is only capable of making really really stupid shows and the stupider they try to go, the better. It is a little bit funny that they actually had Cocktail Weiner outright reject Madoka though. Well, probably. Sometimes it’s hard to tell with how stupid he is. She took it as such at any rate. That’s probably about as close to plot development that this particular disaster is going to come. Now she’ll have to settle for shagging Ayumu with the rest of them, Kazuma included.

Note that I have no idea why they did that. I can’t see it doing anything but alienating the same part of the audience that they were trying to appeal to with the short shorts and breast implant surgery five minutes prior, but hey… we’ve already established that this show has no idea what it’s doing at all. They did, of course, follow it up with a very special ED showing basically every single one of her interactions with Little Smokie, driving home just how little there was to it and how inconsistent the writing has been.

So if I asked you to recommend the better harem show this season. You would recommend Oretsuba over Hoshizora?

    • Aroduc says:

It’s not even a contest. Hell, Oretuba actually ended up being one of the most solid shows of the season as far as I’m concerned, spastic first episodes and inability to go 5 minutes without a panty shot aside. I’m not sure that it can really be called a harem though.
