A Bridge to the Starry Sky #05 — Bouncy

May 8th, 2011

This school’s student council is on crack.

Impressions:

Actually not a bad episode, so it could very well be the show peaking and there’s nothing but downhill from here. Usually there’s not much to do other than make fun of it for going nowhere, Kazuma having his penis ridiculed, and everybody fantasizing about Ayumu, but Kazuma was pretty minimalized this week to just the corny bad drama at the end and his major role besides that was giving Daigo the thumbs up for sticking his brother in a cheerleader costume. I don’t even know what to say about that. His brother is rapidly going from beyond a joke to seriously competing with Koyori for the obligatory small chest crowd.

But yeah, this episode was just a lot of jokes, fanservice, and closeups of girls nether regions and/or bouncing breasts. Archery was about the only event that didn’t involve cosplaying, having girls leap into the air with their chests stretched out, or smashing their butts/breasts into something… usually other breasts or butts. I don’t even think we’ve seen those girls that had the ass-fight before. Just random girls… bumping butts. It’s like making fun of clowns throwing pies. It’s not that funny, but what are you supposed to do with it? Mock them for getting hit? And yeah, stupid drama because Koyori was kicking everybody’s tail, until she was forced to run the last leg in a gown and high heels and sprained her ankle because of it. Shock and surprise when Little-Dick carried her to the finish line. She deserved it anyway for being forced to run in a gown and high heels. She probably deserves a hefty settlement from the school for that too. At least that means that little unfortunate piece of drama is over, unless the kid dies on the operating table… or the operation is to turn him from Keita to Keiko. Because what this show really needs is yet more transgendered little boys.

“And for some reason, everybody is now at a hot springs inn.”

..Does a VN Anime NEED a reason to be at a hot springs?

It’s amazing, I actually can’t predict what’s going to happen in this series.

I mean, I technically can, but it’s so far beyond the usual usage of cliches that I keep getting it wrong because I can’t narrow down the massive list of cliches it might use. It’s like an all-encompassing cliche spectrum, so much so it almost comes full circle to originality.

It’s almost Zen. That, or Chaos.

Um….wasn’t this a drama? Ayumu is supposed to be sick, right? I fear Dogakobo might be trying to do their own version of Hideyoshi.

I’ve never known a sports festival to be serious, but I’ve also never seen one be nothing but fanservice either! Great shots all around! Personal favorite was Hina in the China dress. Was kinda disappointed we didn’t get to see Tsumugi entangled by the eels, but I guess she was abused enough in the obstacle course lol.

Next time: more fanservice, what a twist!!
