What If a Female Manager of a High School Baseball Team Read Drucker’s “Management”? #01 — Baseball! Ha!
April 25th, 2011
I don’t care if it breaks my header. That title cannot be shortened. It it too ridiculous.
FYI, after being off its two week daily airing schedule last month due to tsunami and onto a normal airing schedule, this is back to its daily airing schedule again. Meaning that there will be an episode of this every weekday for the next two weeks. Since this is a DVD release week, I figured I could warm up with something else with only a minute and a half of actual animation.
Impressions:
Normally when a show is this boring, I wish that it didn’t exist. This surpassed my expectations and made me wish that I didn’t exist. It combines all the excitement of Drucker with the intellectual aesthetics of baseball. Or do I have those two reversed? Does it matter? This is woefully under-produced. Even Sengoku Lesbians looks like a masterpiece in comparison. My favorite parts are when they just stop trying entirely and have the MC read out of Drucker verbatim (well… I assume) while showing pictures of streams… or a blank sky. Beyond that is the usual cheapness. Reused frames, stills everywhere, I think I even saw a few CG people jerking clumsily in the crowd.
I did enjoy how Minami is so much of a jerk that she would go out of her way to spite little children just because they’re playing baseball though. Throw the ball back to you? I don’t think so. I’m going to have an inner monologue and then drop the ball down the hill, you little brats. Take that. She’s also an imbecile who is doing all of it for her friend with anime plot sickness syndrometm, so that doesn’t help matters. They didn’t even get to her using any of the management techniques this episode either. Come on, show. Look at your bloody title. You are not even delivering what you promised… and what you promised is even more poorly conceived than McDonald’s shortlived Hammurderer.
