Impressions:

Decent episode, although they really putzed up the direction for about five or six minutes towards the end with the conclusion to the AGE’s little treasure hunt to put together the cock n’balls key to legendary pornography. It was the music mostly. I get the attempted drama joke that they were going for, but they should have really played up more of a thriller or horror type joke instead of making it seem like a bunch of men were about to jump out of the bushes and rape Nao. All for decades-old eel porn too. Man, Japan. Were you ever normal? Please don’t answer that. I also think that they misfired a bit at the end. Shuusuke coming home to a buttload of missed calls from Kondo seems like it’d be significant, or at least a signal that she was turning obsessive over him, but apparently it was absolutely nothing. Uh, okay then.

Anyway, most of the rest was pretty fun and all about Nao and Iroha trying to outdo each other with various festival-related things, most of it centered around them not wearing underwear under their yukatas. What’s more, the full-body clothing hides their creepy emaciated limbs, so that’s a plus. Iroha looks better with a ponytail too.  I particularly enjoyed (not like that, damn it) their competition over who could better handle phallic foodstuffs. I was half expecting Nao to come back with squid-on-a-stick and try to cram that into her face. Or smear sausage grease all over herself. Of course, leave it to the AGE to be the ones in this show to actually put together a penis totem. I wonder sometimes…
