The Legend of the Legendary Heroes #22 — More Things Inside Things

December 2nd, 2010

Bad day to be a female in this show.

Impressions:

Well, at least there were almost no flashbacks this week. Just one short one from Milk, who has ceased being relevant to the plot at hand and is now off cradling the heads of dying giant berserkers. On the other hand, at least half of the episode was spent in either Lyner or Sion’s inner worlds with them arguing with their demons. Let me tell you, there’s an entire bloody fraternity inside Lyner. Lyner’s visions of one eating his mother and then seeing some other warrior behind a door were admittedly much more interesting than Sion arguing with himself over Lyner, but they did do a decent job handling the direction towards the end of Sion’s scene, especially with the lighting, making it unclear which of the two actually "came out."

Most of the rest was more focused on being obtuse than in getting things moving towards a conclusion. Lyner’s father kidnapped him, gave him a mysterious tattoo, and then dumped him in bed with Feris. As far as dastardly plans go, I’ve seen worse, but it’s pretty late in the game to be introducing quite this many random magical mysterious gizmos. King Gastark also does the merciful thing and sets Keifer free just seconds before her dress gives way so she can go help Lyner because… eh… why not? I’m sure it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Preview:

Awesome preview, guys.

3 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

  • Nanaya says:

Why most of your posts since that miko game review involve being inside of someone? Either that imprinted some issues you havent resolve, or Japan’s finally trying to do something about that low birth rate of theirs. xD

    • Aroduc says:

Because about 30 minutes of the last hours worth of anime I’ve watched has been internal monologues/internal demon arguing. And most of the rest is Milky Holmes.

  • The Phantom says:

So they ran out of episodes and now they are in a rush to show a lot of crap at the same time?

Zexcs:…Yeah, who cares about consistency, lets just throw all the stuff together and call it a day.

What a sad end for the supposedly best show of the season.
