Maiden Demon Zakuro #11 — The Rape Hand

December 13th, 2010

So… a Nazi incestual rapist then. Okay.

Impressions:

Oh boy, a flashback episode. You know how much I love it when they hit the pause button on the current time so we can have long and unneeded details thrown in. And this one’s about a character that’s been dead since the start of the show! Oh boy! They’ve really overshot the mark with Hanadaka here too. He’s approaching comical levels of supervillainry. In the last episode, it’s been revealed that he’s some kind of supremicist intent on creating a master race, wants to rape the heroine… who is his sister, killed her mother’s lover, and killed his/her mother and is keeping the corpse in his basement. He’s half a Snidely Whiplash mustache away from tying Susuki to the traintracks. Less can be more. The supremicist rapist angle just may have been probably enough.

Hell, I’m not even sure how he found time to be the chief of a village intent on racial purity as well as holding down a full time job in the military. Doesn’t the military have… you know… regulations and duties that would keep him busy? We’ve also reached the point where every character except him doesn’t want him to rape Zakuro, even the giant man-eating spider. Okay, so the spider wants to kill her instead, but Omodate main three powers so far are being a bad liar, controlling a half-demon prone to coughing up blood at every chance she gets, and the Rape Handtm. I can’t wait to see the big finale pitting a Kei moralty speech against The Rape Handtm. My money’s on Hozuki kicking them both in the crotch while they’re having their bishie stare-off and gnawing on their lips meaningfully.

Preview:

The Rape Handtm strikes again.

I still enjoyed the story about Sakuro’s mom. And it certainly answered lots of things. I consider that despite best efforts (Not that we had best efforts in this case, but anyway) sometimes it’s important to have flashbacks that gives the viewer a different perspective and help you understand some parts of the plot.

  • Mesousa says:

What is your obsession with this show and raping?

    • Aroduc says:

Because that’s the plot of the show. Hanadate has kidnapped Zakuro in order to force her to give birth to his child. It’s only slightly less bizarre than Fushigi Yuugi’s random arcs where the villains suddenly all turned into rapists.
