My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute #04 — Cosmic Broke

October 24th, 2010

Stay classy, AIC.

Impressions:

I make it through this show by remembering that the alternative was Arakawa. Every time the bile starts to rise in my gullet, I think "Arakawa" and a soothing wave of relief passes over me that lasts for about 3 minutes. This was about a five "Arakawa’er."

Anyway, the first half actually managed to cross that line where it went from just plainly bad to bad enough that it really gets the creative juices flowing. The fact that they started with tentacle fighter Siscalypse and then immediately went for a pan up of Kirino’s crotch set the tone for the entire segment. I particularly liked Kyousuke and Ayase’s interactions. He drools and leers at her when she walks in, then busts into his sister’s room, steals her package, and proceeds to grope her. He must have had a good reason for it, right! Give me your e-mail address! DO ME HERE IN THE YARD! RIGHT NOW! MAKE EVERYBODY WATCH! The only thing that scene was missing was a closeup of her uterus gurgling in anticipation.

The rest of that segment… well, if you though the phone conversation was bad, prepare for… CHAT ROOM CONVERSATION. And seeing that intro clip of Siscalypse about fourteen more times. I think AIC just sent all their animators over to Forte this season. The Comiket half was just plain awful. They spent almost as much time standing in line and talking about standing in line as they did anything else. And jokes? Pfft. Why have jokes? We’re at Comiket. It’s funny because… they’re girls? I’m not even sure.

Oh shit. It just got a whole lot creepier.

  • anon says:

Obviously they need the incest shit since the rest of the episode is so painfully paint by numbers as to be indistinguishable from other otaku shows. We’ve all seen this pandering plotline many times in the past few years. We can probably assume that this won’t be the last time we see comiket either.

  • Mesousa says:

Why an incest joke?! What’s the freaking point for said joke?!

  • Anise_Punter says:

“The only thing that scene was missing was a closeup of her uterus gurgling in anticipation.”

I’d bet dollars to donuts such a scene would be pretty easy to find amongst the books at Comiket.

  • kamisama says:

why do you assume it is an incest joke?
it could be intended as a serious incest scene which in the anime world is ok. A lot of people would do her if they were in the guy’s shoes but many they would not admit it

  • Shinji103 says:

So he got in not only a breast grab, but a breast grab with a /direct bra strike/ AND a skirt flip-up, all at once.

Keitaro Urashima was never that good. :D

  • alex says:

“well, if you though the phone conversation was bad, prepare for… CHAT ROOM CONVERSATION”
    lol
otakus watch it just because she’s an otaku -> such pathetic loosers
did you notice how fugly those ita cars are…

  • alex says:

This was another boring episode. Nekomimi goth loli was win at least :) Lets see if next ep. with Ayase will be better or if I skip this thing.

I’d like to say this show is just devolving into yet another show that just panders to the lonely but that would imply it was anything before that.

  • demonic_apostle says:

I enjoy more your posts about the episodes that the episode itself.

  • Wilfriback says:

In the novels he fell with her but never his hands fell magically on her chest and then grabing them.

  • jolo says:

I don’t get it when people tell me it’s a high budget anime, it’s full of steady shots, the hair it’s just a gradient from photoshop and camera is always in kirino’s legs(not that i hate it).

Yeah, maybe their staff focused more on Sora no Otoshimono…

  • laughingspiral says:

    I hate this show…so much.
