Impressions:

I realize just how much of a broken record that I sound like, but again… why couldn’t the actual show have been anything like these DVD specials? These are great. AIC has found about a perfect 25 second frame of setting the premise and then making the joke. Not too short, not drawn out, and almost always visual. After this season’s deluge of ‘wordplay’ (to be charitable with the term) seeing jokes instead of puns and misunderstanding is like delicious ambrosia dripping over wet catgirls. Whoever has been doing these specials should have really been in charge of the overall show instead of the rotating director system they used. Of course, now I’m primed to expect the water series gag to be the guys getting soaked for one of the next two, which is a terrifying thought.

I’ll get to Sekirei’s last episode in an hour or two. I need a breather. And food. And to watch Community/30 Rock/all the other stuff I missed. Maybe not in that order.
