Overrun by Stray Cats! #11 — The Eternal War

Don’t look at me, I prefer sarongs.

Impressions:

This was quite the manic depressive episode. As expected, the last ‘arc’ (to be generous) is going to be about Nozomi’s former family, or whatever you want to call these MiB folks that have shown up to take her back. Between the random bouts of nyaangst, the episode bounced around through what could charitably be called a plethora of random events. First it was a sports fest, then it turned into bloomer vs spats, then the musical battle erupted in the hallways between the spats sentai and the bloomer overlord, then a totally random character popped up out of literally nowhere to put everything off until next week. It felt like I was watching an episode of Angel Beats, only nobody’s little sister was eaten by a dingo.

It was fairly amusing for the most part though. Fumino’s eternal waffling over Takumi has long since gotten tiresome, but the parodies song battle were certainly weird enough to entertain me. I think that they also realized that they had Horie Yui on contract and decided to make the most of her before the finale. Chise’s maids were in rare form this week too. Their multi-level entrapment of Takumi was almost genius. It almost made me forget their creepy uncanny valley EDs. *shudder*

    Heh, I’d do the same.

  • Myssa Rei says:

I bike to work, so spats gets my vote.

  • Anise Punter says:

I’m not sure what I expected this week, but “Yui Horie erupts into a song about pants”, was not it. Considering where we’ve been since the strip jenga episode, I’ll take it.

  • Solaris says:

Everybody blabbering about how Angel beats or Koihime Musou are so bad and whantnot, can’t you see those shows shine bright compared with this awful crap here?
