Overrun by Stray Cats! #02 — The God Hand

April 13th, 2010

I’m really not sure that defeating little girls is that impressive.

Impressions:

Well, on the downside (or upside depending on what you expected), this was more or less the exact same as the first episode, although far far less visually ambitious. That did mean that its budgetary shortcomings were a lot less noticeable too, but most of those little stylistic quirks and whatnot have already vanished completely. The first half was more or less completely braindead, but things were a lot better in the second. I still despise whose-his-face in glasses, but he does work well with Chise. Horie Yui also remains a cypher, popping up out of nowhere to grope Fumino or declare that Nozomi has a God Hand and then disappearing again.

Nozomi hasn’t really done anything particularly interesting yet though. She fidgets in swimsuits and is good at baking, fixing TVs, and patting Chise. Aaaaand that’s about it. Otome’s bumbling also hasn’t really endeared her to me as of yet, but at least there’s not much of it. I certainly have no problem with all the focus on Fumino, but at the same time, given the way these things normally go, I’m already expecting bad angst to come from it. Hopefully it won’t be too awful though.

And no, Hinano, there were almost no fat pussies this week.

    *punts Chise*

  • Yue says:

Somehow, watching these loli doesn’t make me feel guilty. XD

  • Hinano says:

Oh how disappointing. I was actually planning to backlog the show and marathon it later too

  • Gin says:

When I hear God Hand, one of two things come to mind.
    1) Badass Shinjiro releasing his Persona
    2) A guy with a foot on his face going around kicking ass.
If one of those two things ever happened in this show, I would rank it best anime no matter what.

/smacks pussy jokes out of the way

Much as I love a dirty innuendo, kitty kitty jokes got less and less funny after Nyan-Koi ended.

Lets get back to johnny jokes. Those are new. :)
