A Certain Scientific Railgun #15 — Denial

Who, me?

Impressions:

It’s really awesome that we’re getting into some actual development for Mikoto finally, with the Misaka Network and Accelerator stuff proudly shown off in the OP instead of a repeat of "evil-looking office lady is evil." Accelerator was one of the highlights of Index, and after all the Saten whininess it’ll be nice to see someone who doesn’t completely suck get some screentime as well as the show actually use the powers for some reason other than people whining about not having them. I’m glad that they’re not just pulling some other random tertiary character to the front and pretending like we should care about them. It was also awesome in this episode how they animated every one of the fight scenes instead of just skipping over almost all of them. That was particularly great.

Because nobody would be so stupid as to make an arc about spider themed, milk-dreaming punk who have acquired a magical machine that strips out the one interesting element of the entire series while emitting an intensely irritating noise. That would be crazy.

I saw it coming. Sisters arc had so little of Saten/Kuroko/Uiharu that I didn’t think it would work because of what are they trying to sell with this anime. That is the friendship between them.

I’d rather have Accelerator and ITEM than this snorefest.

  • Nazarielle says:

We’re detecting lethal levels of sarcasm, we’re going to have to decontaminate the area.

So I guess this means you’ll be leaning even more to keeping Railgun on the schedule, seeing as it’s REALLY picking up speed, huh?

    • Shinji103 says:

Well the Index S1 and S2 OPs had cameos of Saten and Uiharu in them, so this isn’t surprising.

  • Mania Lyssa says:

Did anyone else see Index and Touma briefly in the opening?

    Clever way of putting them…

  • Chen says:

Wait, is this sarcasm? Was this episode actually good? I honestly can’t tell.

  • Rei says:

    Complete. Denial.
Really awesome animation in the OP2 though :D i love the last 30 seconds.

  • Westlo says:

    Accelerator looks awesome!

    • Yue says:

YES!! He’s pretty humanized after his fight with Touma. Where is he now anyway? I’m curious about his remarkable villain turn~around. ^_~

      • Anonymous says:

He’s on his way to Russia with Last Order.

        No joke.

I think it’s after that Level 0 beat that Level 5 who isn’t Misaka, Accelerator, or that chick from ITEM.

  • Lollerman says:

So essentially, they don’t plan on even touching the Accelerator/Misaka Clone arc at all? Are they aiming for a second season or something?

Oh well, as long as Saten doesn’t appear too much/story goes somewhere, I’ll stick with it. You know, for all the exposition that Index crammed into every episode, I never really felt that it dragged the way this show does, and there’s nearly no exposition…

  • TJ says:

I was actually expecting to see Accelerator in the OP. Guess I have to go fix my sarcasm detector.

This show actually made me look forward to Index season 2. At least that show had actual plot.

  • Gil says:

    Drifting Gallardo? O.o

  • Wilfriback says:

    No evil Accelerator…
    No cool ITEM’girls…
    No cute clones…
    ….
Althought a magazine said that the episodes since the 14 will be made with the help of Index’s author, I’m looking forward more for a Index’s second season.

  • Rawr says:

Accelerator’s looking positively evil, there. Nice post aroduc. Your expectations seems a bit high, since some apparently didn’t understand why in the world you would do something like this. Sure you still want to blog railgun?

    • Aroduc says:

Sure? Hell no. But it beats the hell out of everything else from Fridays to Mondays… Tuesdays if you cross off Chu-Bra, which is probably just as bad, only not pissing all over a better series.

  • passer-by says:

    I’m late lawl. Anyways,

WHAT?!?!? LOLI TEACHER CAN DRIVE?!?!?! Does her feet even reach those pedals? Lawl. And I’m guessing the next end arc villian will be someone who likes candy huh?

  • The Phantom says:

When the hell are they going to show more ToumaxBiribiri moments?

  • Anonymous says:

So we won’t be seeing ITEM anytime soon. . . I want my animated Frenda dammit!

Why is Kiyama-sensei drifting in the OP? I thought she was in jail. And what are they fighting? Some invisible whatsis?
