GA Art Design Class #02 — Dream a Little Dream

July 13th, 2009

Noda, you’re adorable.

Impressions:

Another very fun episode, although like, I said, I’m a little at a loss here as to what exactly to say since the plot was pretty much completely non-existent once again. There was a fair bit of education on art pencils, as well as Kisaragi’s naive belief that the art pencils she was given were somehow blessed by a god, earning her pity head patting from the rest of the class. About another third of the episode was more centered on Noda screwing around with Tomokane’s dream, creating some kind of weird otherworld where Tomokane triumphs over artistic ruffians with a more original drawing of Alexander the Great’s bust. Then a couple brief bits about a fly landing on a tissue they were drawing and Kisaragi glomping a still-wet paper mache cat before she ends up buying more art pencils.

The last part dragged a little bit, but I still enjoyed most o fit. I think my favorite bit was the short little segment about GA itself, especially with the revelation that there’s a GB class as well. It’s probably all males and an offshoot of Cromartie. Miyabi Masa continues to be pretty funny most of the time as well. Noda started randomly narrating other people’s conversations, so she started doing it with the chickens. Her zero-sum power up with the 100% juice was also a funny follow up to Tomokane going super saiyajin with them. Also, having now seen Noda in both twin tails and with her hair down, I’m going to go ahead and advocate that she sticks with the hairbuns.

Bring on the mecha.

The gags so remind me of Macademi Wasshoi only instead of claymation there’s paint and the huffing thereof.
