Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan!! #02 — Happiness and Secretions

I could really do without one of those.

Impressions:

Urgh. I don’t even know where to start. I’m really liking the stories that this show is trying to tell, and Plug got some great development this week that nicely offsets her from the supergirl Aresta without making them antagonistic to each other, but the fanservice really painfully gets in the way of that… if you can even call it fanservice. When it takes 30 seconds out of the show to watch a show within a show about a magical girl being tentacle attacked, having her panties pulled down, and then wetting herself… I’m not even sure gratuitous even begins to cover it. Thankfully, there were only two urinating incidents this episode. The other one came from Plug’s stock transformation sequence. However, in her wrasslin’ match with Aresta, the cord did get wedged up in Aresta’s camel toe, which produced other liquids only suitable for… well… nobody.

Like I said though, I really did like this week’s story. Sentou pointed out to Plug that turning on the happy juice doesn’t fix people’s problems. The underlying causes remain. This worked very nicely against the introduction of Aresta, who is awesome at recharging people, but just does it and moves on to the next without caring if it actually solves the problem. She even decided to not charge someone just because her shift was up, and didn’t care that it was someone that she had charged up earlier. I expected them to address the "quick fix" vs "actually helping" issue eventually, but I wasn’t sure I’d last long enough to reach that point, so I’m pleasantly surprised that they tossed it up early and at least Sentou and Plug are aware that charging people isn’t necessarily the right thing to do.

Le sigh. I still don’t know what I’m going to do with this show. Sentou is dreamy a great male lead, and Plug gained a lot of points in my book this week. Even Aresta didn’t turn out to be as much of a stuck up bint as I was expecting her to be. It’s just… I really don’t want to see gushing crotches… you know? Is that such an unreasonable request? If not for that, I don’t think I’d have any qualms about happily following along. Then again, when I remember that there’s more Kanokon, Queen’s Blade, and Kodomo no Jikan to come, somehow, being the least of four evils doesn’t seem so bad. All the same… ugh… what am I going to do with this one…

Also, Plug’s ass is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge. And if you’re curious, the actual ED is 90 seconds of Plug running on a treadmill in her skivvies. At least she’s not sitting on a toilet.

Ahh yes the age old debate. Urinate or nay. You know I cannot bring myself to watch a show that features copious amounts of moist crotch. It’s just not my thing.

This reminds me is Nova watching this?

Does fanservice actually detract from a show? I thought it’d be a plus in many people’s books.

  • Rawr, good fanservice is a plus. Bad fanservice is a minus.

The urine goggles. They do nothing.
