Project GA — Undercooked Appetizer

April 17th, 2009

Now we just need to figure out a way around this whole "All strings must be 32 characters or fewer" nonsense and we’ll be cooking with gas! Amusingly (in a certain masochistic sense), all the battle quotes are in a more or less unsorted and only vaguely clustered list. I have no idea what even triggers some of them, and the fact that the Angels will whine about a single missile out of eight missing is certainly making actually applying context here via trial and error quite a spot of fun.

That translation is bad at the beginning. Very bad.

  • Aroduc says:

Pfft. Everything’s still in the process of getting everything down on paper for the battle stuff. Checking and whatnot comes later, especially once context can actually be applied to any of this. Besides which, you’re only seeing half the sentences, how would you know? ^^ Just wanted to show that progress is indeed being made… finally.

  • DmonHiro says:

Half of the sentences? Ohhh…THAT’S why it read wrong. My bad, I didn’t get that “32 characters” thing. I appologise.

  • Aroduc says:

No worries. Although I do feel a little miffed that you’d think my editing was bad enough to leave choppy broken sentences and half-spelled words all over the place. ^^

  • shio says:

The text isn’t even that important for the gameplay, which is looking pretty fun…like a Japanese Starcraft, maybe.

    Guiness is nuts.

  • Shinji103 says:

    OOOOOOH, looks nice! :D

It’s just a little odd to me though; I’m used to the PS2 released version of the game, where the battle menu setups were quite different from the version in the video up there, lol.

  • P-dash says:

So is this a PC game or a console game?

  • Anonymous says:

I believe it started out as a PC game, but was ported to PS2 as well.

This is looking VERY nice by the way :)

  • Shinji103 says:

P-dash: So is this a PC game or a console game?

The first trilogy (GA, GA Moonlit Lovers, GA Eternal Lovers) were all PC games that were later ported to PS2. The second, sequel trilogy has only been released on the PS2.

  • GT says:

so we expect the finished patch in 1 or 2 years?
cuz i tried playing it on japanese but i could not even get to where the fight start lol.

  • Aroduc says:

Good god no. I’m hoping to finish this some time in 2015.

    Or over the summer.

    Either/or.

  • Arizth says:

    Looking quite excellent.

but, holy hells, you weren’t kidding about them complaining about everything, were you?

  • Will of the Wisps says:

Looks good! I am looking forward to Homeworld 2 meets dating sim.

  • Silver says:

Woah, what a surprise! Someone is actually translating the game. Anyway, VANILLA!!
