You’re getting even weirder, Shaft.

Impressions:

Parts two and three of this episode were exceptionally surreal, even for Shaft. The first part was about how knowledge changes how you experience things and was honestly pretty dry. Part 2 was especially weird as they talked about dreams and showing everybody basically being the opposite of their normal form. Usui’s manliness was especially funny. Meru started talking and Chiwa Saito’s voice came out. That was a special brand of strange. Fuuka even did the "I’m in despair!" routine.

As if that wasn’t surreal enough, part 3 featured them randomly rotating the VAs every minute or two. Itoshiki went through at least nine or ten VA changes in the 6 minute  segment. I didn’t even try to follow what was going on. At one point, Rin was shaking her ass at the screen, so I’m not even sure there was anything to follow anyway. Something about wisdom teeth and paying attention to your parents. I’m sure it’s a pun that went over my head. Kaere ends up with a guy’s VA at one point. There’s really no way that me talking about it can convey how strange this was. Ergo, I have uploaded a random chunk of part 3 to demonstrate. It’s certainly good to see a studio enjoying their work as much as Shaft seems to be, though they really have been veering into the bizarre for this season of Zetsubou Sensei, lest we forget Shining Finger Chiri or Admiral Perry.
