Amazing Mahou Shota #07 — Portuguese Invasion Edition

November 14th, 2007

“Just when you think an episode is boring, something wonderful happens.”
“What?”
“It ends.”

Impressions:

We’ve now reached the point where I turn on Labyrinth just for some noise on Tuesday evenings. What I recall while watching this episode is that Portugal doublecrossed me during the OP and invaded Western Europe while my forces were off on a Holy Crusade. It took some desperate redeployment, clever use of assassins, and even ‘sacrificing’ my best princess to seduce away one of their top generals, but by the time Labyrinth ended, half the royal line of Portugal had been assassinated, the Pope had excommunicated them, and I had gained back all but one of my cities that they seized. That was far more interesting than Mahou Shota Miyuki fighting off the advances of his servants, male and female, and then some stills of a giant toy robot. At least it didn’t have his annoying school chums, though the dog did catch a big remote control or some-such like a frisbee.

Maybe I should switch over to Kaiji just so I can mock the horrible math and totally inept attempts at gambling. Then again, that means no chance to see more Byakko. Ah well, she’s going nowhere fast anyway. We’ll try Kaiji next week (assuming the Night Wizard raws continue to be slow) and see where it goes from there. Even if something interesting happens in Labyrinth, I’m honestly in no way, shape or form cognizent enough of what’s going on to understand things.
