Potemayo #17, 18 & 19 — ‘Tis the Season For Love

August 31st, 2007

Fun for the whole family!

Impressions:

In progress… I’m sort of playing Civilization 4 with a couple friends as I try to watch and write all at once. That’s making things go rather slowly. Kyo’s dad is pretty hilarious though. I can’t imagine Guchuko in a dog house. You’ll be happy to know that the Incan empire absolutely crushed the rest of the world and made them bow down to our superior culture in 1873. The best part was their silly attempts to thwart me by invading with cavalry against my tanks.I’m actually liking Tomari quite a bit. She’s more of the usual type of haremish lead, only matched up against the very… questionable tastes of Yasumi. He’s grown on me too. Both Potemayo and Tomari enjoy tormenting him (albeit accidentally) and with his sister complex and inability to keep himself out of yaoi situations, he’s been quite entertaining for the last couple episodes. I’m a little sad at how show the Guchuko sequence was this episode (as I always am whenever the Guchuko is minimal), but I have high hopes for Kyo’s goodnatured dad’s attempts to befriend Guchuko in the future. I’m imagining some form of chew toy or other item and the havoc Guchuko will bring to it.

Summary:

Potemayo has new pants with flower prints! She’s rather embarrased by them though and doesn’t like them showing.

Sunao and Pote head to school when Mikan calls out to them. Potemayo starts growling at her and doesn’t stop until Mikan gives her a present… a warm sweater. The arms are too long and hang down in front of Sunao’s face. She also has a scarf for Sunao. He asks Mikan how to repay her, setting Pote growling again.

Yasumi comes up behind her with a dark look on his face, probably from the idiot hat on his head, but smack Mikan for hitting on Sunao. The little kid that was chasing Guchuko also runs up, recognizes Potemayo, and gets Yasumi’s hat jammed on her (his?) head for good measure. The two start fighting until the bell rings and they all run off to class. Mikan apologizes to the kid on Yasumi’s behalf and says that she (he?) can keep the hat.

The kid is on her way to her own school, but the hat is too big, slips over her eyes and she runs into a pole.

At school, all the girls are fawning over Potemayo and Sunao’s new winter getups. He says that they’re gifts from Mikan and they all turn to her to say congratulate her on her ‘step forward.’ Sunao’s father then pops out of nowhere and makes kissy noises at them both until Sunao smacks him.

Sunao wants to know why his dad is at school… he’s here for Potemayo. I’m almost certain I heard this wrong, but with this show, I can never tell, but I believe he’s there because he’s worried about her being in season. I swear that I heard ‘hatsujou’ (mate) in there, and “supray” is kind of hard to miss as well. He wants her to wear a chastity belt.

Naturally, everybody is kind of freaked out and surprised, especially Mudo, who flips his lid. Once he’s quietted down, Mikan starts thinking about a girl’s heart, but Nene has no issues with it. Sunao doesn’t have anything to say at all.

On the way home, Mikan is thinking about it. Potemayo starts growling at her, and Mikan compliments her on her flower underwear. Kyo and Nene (riding on Mudo) are thinking about Guchuko. She’s the same -thing- as Potemayo after all. They go to check on her, and find that she has flowers in her hair. Kyo scowls at this, and Nene leaves her to it.

Potemayo is playing with the bird while Sunao thinks about how to deal with Potemayo. He puts a rose in a bath for her. I have no idea how this was supposed to solve anything.

Sunao is reading in bed and Potemayo gets ready to leap in. He stops her though, and says that she needs to sleep in a basket. She throws a temper tantrum.

At the random kid’s house, her younger bother, Subaru, is chewing on the hat. I think we finally learn that her name is Tomari.

Potemayo has been relegated to spending the night with Sunao’s father. He grabs her in his sleep though and starts rolling around all over the place before putting her in a leg lock, forcing her to bite him. All the commotion wakes up Sunao.

The next day, Tomari comes up to Mikan and Yasumi. They’re surprised because she’s in a shirt and looking cute… and still in Yasumi’s hat. They’re shocked because she’s a girl, and even Potemayo wets herself… and Sunao’s head in surprise.

Moving on to episode two of three, Kyo’s father is reading a newspaper on their deck when he sees Guchuko sleeping in the tree. He says hello to her, but she hisses at him.

Kyo is a bit late getting up on the weekend. She says good morning to her father, and then sees Guchuko lurking on the deck and waves to her too. She introduces him to Guchuko and he shows her his plans to build a doghouse for the little scythe maniac.

Today, Nene is also having some kind of party and her brothers are spazzing out as usual, but Kyo thinks it would be kind of a pain, and just imagines she’ll torture them by using Mudo as an excuse.

Guchuko continues napping outside, but is woken up by Kyo’s father beginning to put together materials to build her doghouse. She leaps into the bushes and growls at him from there, but he just smiles at her.

On the way to Nene’s, Kyo meets up with Mikan and Yasumi, quickly followed by the rest of the bunch. They all head to keep feudal era Nene company. Sunao brought her a present, and Nene’s mom gets a jab in before they all head to the pool.

Once there, Nene’s brothers zero in on Yasumi as a possible replacement for Mudo. They threaten Mudo with… ‘an accident,’ and his poor lackey can only look on and lament his own failed relationship with Mu-tan. Nene pokes him in the back and makes him take her place of honor as the marriage material next to Mudo.

Potemayo is feeding Sunao, and Mikan imagines feeding Moriyama. In her fevered dreams, she ends up offering to feed Nene’s butler. Kiyori is also trying to suck up to Yasumi, who barely remembers that she’s a girl. Potemayo continues feeding Sunao.

Everybody is heading home, with Tomari lurking along with Yasumi and Mikan for a ways.

At Kyo’s, the doghouse is finished, and they’ve put a pillow in it. Guchuko is suspicious though, and whacks it with her scythe a bit, so Kyo’s dad goes and sits in it to show it’s safe.

For episode three, Tomari is heading to the SUPER SPA SPECIAL new bathhouse that just opened. She heads into the locker room just in time to see Yasumi take off his shirt and see his rippling muscles underneath. She’s embarrassed and shocked and whathaveyou and kicks Yasumi in the face before running off. Sunao wanders in with Potemayo on his head, and then sends her off to the girl’s bath.

In the girl’s side, Mikan, Potemayo and Tomari are all together. On the guy’s side, Sunao is stumbling around blindly, but avoids the manflesh in favor of running into a couple walls and then a bath. He eventually does find some other guy, so Yasumi pulls his ass away. Sunao wants to go to the other bath though, so Yasumi heads over there and tosses him in.

From the other side of the rock, Yasumi hears Tomari and Potemayo talking about how smooth and shapely their skin is and imagines a busty Mikan and the usual poking that follows. They’re actually feeling up Potemayo though, which just changes it from a sister complex to something unidentifiable. Yasumi faceplants into the rock.

Tomari thinks that Potemayo is a bit tubby and says that she should go on a diet. Potemayo shakes her head, lathers up her stomach, and uses it to sled around.

Yasumi also thinks that Sunao needs to get in better shape, so he drags the kid to the sauna to talk some sense into him. During their little chat, he imagines naked Mikan and ends up in a pool of his own blood.

Potemayo and Tomari are swimming together in the rose bath. Potemayo suddenly stops and looks very… shall we say… relieved. Tomari senses it, but Potemayo tries to act innocent.

Mikan drags the other two to a special slightly electrified pool. When Tomari dips her toe in it, the bird on top of her head becomes charged and puffs up.

They’re getting ready to leave and Mikan offers to buy them all juice. Tomari and Potemayo imagine hunky Yasumi with juice and go running off. Instead, they find passed-out Yasumi with his head in Sunao’s lap. All three girls freak out. Tomari goes running up to Yasumi and as he tries to get up, he falls and accidently hugs her, earning him a boot to the face again and sending her running off blushing.

At home, Tomari is lamenting her treatment of the guy she likes.

Kyo and Nene are heading to the bath and find Tomari’s dad trying to look in and find Tomari. He sees them and flips out, crying that he’s not a pervert.
