Nagasarete Airantou #17 — The Furry Fanservice Episode

July 25th, 2007

I’d probably cross the species line for Panako.

Impressions:

Much better than last week’s, but still not one of the better episodes. Lots of fanservice as we see all the way to Chikage’s navel in her bustier accentuating magician girl outfit, as well as the more subtle grace of Panako. Sadly, we won’t be seeing her in the form any more. It’s probably for the best though. At least Ikuto didn’t nosebleed over any of the people in animal forms.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need a nap.

Summary:

Panako forcibly wakes up Chikage, who is sleeping in, and tells her to drag her ass out of bed and get to work. Chikage has her own plans though, and starts to sneak off, but trips on a book in her room. She looks down and sees that it’s a book of spells which starts glowing.

Later that night, at the cherry tree, a ‘mysterious’ figure is chanting a spell and suddenly a magical circle sends out magic that strikes every house in the village.

The next morning, Ikuto wakes up… to Suzu transformed into a cat. Looking a mirror, Ikuto discovers that he has a dog tail and ears. Even Tonkatsu is transformed into a more normal looking pig.

Heading outside, they see some normal people and their kids chatting. They figure out that they’re the chickens that they keep. In an effort to figure things out, chibineko-Suzu mounts Ikuto’s head and they take off.

The first person they find is Kumakuma riding on a little girl. Though actually, the girl is Kumakuma and the bear is Yukina. They wonder if all the people on the island are changed.

They head first over to Meimei’s house, where they find naked kappa girl Tohna and monkey Meimei. Ikuto still persists in not believing, so she grabs his head and shoves his face into her chest.

Continuing on their way, we find minidog Rin and angry squirrel Mikoto, along with their masters in human form, though one looks like he escaped from the Star Wars universe. As the carpenter trio leaves, a beautiful girl walks up with flowers, but they can’t figure out who she is.

Continuing through the village, nobody seems to have noticed that they’ve been changed to animals except Suzu and Ikuto. They finally find Chikage, who is totally unchanged. She notes that the two are only half changed by her technique, before she confesses that she found a magic book and was the one who changed the whole village.

Ikuto, ever the skeptic, finds it funny and laughs at her ‘joke,’ so she does other more standard magic tricks, including pulling Monjiro out of her hat, followed by a very angry bunny eared and rabbit footed Ayane.  She tries to think why Ayane wasn’t fully changed, and Ayane tells her that she intercepted the beam by throwing the napping Machi into its path.

Machi makes her appearance about then by coldcocking Ikuto as a flying squirrel. Ayane attacks Chikage to get her to change them back, but Chikage summons a tree which she collides with. Chikage refuses to change people back because it’s more interesting this way and she hasn’t finished playing around with her magic. She summons a broom and flies off. The rest try to figure out what to do, but Ikuto is in a fit trying to understand the magic that he just saw.

The team heads over to Chikage’s mansion to rifle through her stuff and try to find a clue on what to do. Ikuto finds a book of spells and immediately drops it, making it explode and summon a tiny genie who will grant them wishes. Skeptic Ikuto continues his disbelief of everything, but Suzu wishes for mamedaifuku. Ayane gets the next wish, and instead of going for something useful, yells at him to shut up, so there goes wish number two… sort of. They start to argue, and Monjiro takes the next wish for some kind of food or something that he starts slobbering over. They finally get off the wish to trap Chikage, so the genie summons a stick, basket and books. While they’re all saying it’ll never work, Chikage blunders into it.

Now tied up, with her rack fully exposed and cleavage from here to Montana, Chikage asks the Genie to save her, so he releases her. Well done, team. Well, freakin’ done. The Genie says that they’re down to their last wish and everybody goes into their daydreams about what to do with their power and starts chasing it around. Ikuto, on the other hand, is still trying to rationalize everything.

Machi makes a surprise appearance and wishes for some tea. And there goes the last wish. Chikage takes advantage of her magical power being absolute now and captures everybody and prepares to experiment with her magic on them by sawing them in half. They start freaking out, but Ikuto is ready for this brand of magic.

Chikage picks Ikuto first, and as she’s sawing through him, he passes out. The beautiful girl from before shows up and starts chewing out Chikage. Finally, Chikage realizes that the girl is Panako, who picks up a giant rock and drops it on Chikage.

Apparently, dropping a rock on her was the key to breaking the spell, and everybody then returns to normal, though Suzu is still using ‘nyaa’ at the end of her sentences.

A little later, Ikuto wakes up and says that everything must have been a dream and that’s why there was magic, a genie, everybody transformed, etc.

5 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

  • AGear says:

Certainly this is a good episode. Human Panako and Human Kumakuma are sooo cute, but, I dislike monkey Mei Mei(why a monkey?).

  • sage says:

Human Panako is so hot, it’s criminal.

  • Shinn Agami says:

  • Wiz says:

Ahh, I’ve seen the manga version of this episode and found that Ikuto-Kun got the usual massive nosebleeding once he found out that blond gal in pink clothes is actually Panako … when he imagined back to the day he took a bath with Panako ….

BTW, this Anime Episode is a mixture of 2 separated chapters in manga + special chapter when Ikuto-Kun got the usual massive nosebleeding once he found out that blond gal in pink clothes is actually Panako when he imagined back to the day he took a bath with Panako …
