Xross Scramble

May 23rd, 2007

One of the best hentai games you’ll ever play with both hands.

Xross Scramble is Giga’s latest offering, basically a conglomeration of all their Savior fan discs into one semi-cohesive game, a couple relatively short and vapid new Duel Savior stories, and a new Baldr Force… -something-. I’m not really a Baldr fan though, so I’ve ignored that for the most part.

Let’s divide it up into game modes then. Duel Savior: The Two Princesses is a new story based around our delightful little antagonistic Princess Claire and a doppelganger who shows up. It’s pretty droll though, and even though there are two paths, depending on which Claire you choose, there are about three or four battles, pretty much all against generic drek and using totally standard Taiga. Whatever, it killed 30 minutes.

Xross Savior is a bit more esoteric. You’re in control of Taiga again, and we get to see our sexy new martial artist, Eska (Esuka?) as Taiga gets pitted one on one against every single person in the extended Savior universe, though in the case of the worthless 2 move maids, sometimes you’re just accomplishing mass genocide of domestic servants. As you beat them, you’re allowed to replace Taiga’s moves with their’s, literally substituting their sprites and attack animations for whichever moves you choose for your own. Given that Taiga is already an overpowered melee god, this just makes the beatdown even messier. Luckily, the AI is a lot better than in the Duel Savior days, and Eska herself is pretty overpowered, but for the most part, you’ll be crushing your enemies without even a second thought.

Scramble Savior is basically just the old survival mode plus Giant and Tiny modes worked in and a few random challenge courses that really are pretty nasty to try to get through, especially with the smarter AI. There are also the last couple characters to unlock here, including, for some reason that I have yet to discover, Nanami from Lamune and their CG as well. I’m still short two, but that’s mostly because I got tired of Survival mode around stage 100ish.

And here’s what I’ve spent the last few days putting together. Whee!

This was essentially an excuse to teach myself Premier, so I doubt I’ll even make another combo video, especially since I’m really not all that great of a player. If there is a next time though, I’m not going to limit myself minimizing wall traps or relaunchers and try to go a little easier on the super bar… and I’m certainly not going to mess around with the silly split screen effect. Ah well. Still came out pretty well to me though. I’ve also decided that strange transitions are the lens flare of Premier.

If you want the individual clips to make your own, likely better, video from them, here you go.
