Last Period #01 — Welcome to the Tutorial Village

Good to see Team Skull ditched their stuff at Goodwill.

Impressions:

I worry that this thinks itself to be a fast paced, laugh a minute, slapstick parody comedy. On occasions, very rare occasions, there are moments where maybe you could mistake it for something sort of like that, usually when someone offhandedly smacks another character rather than, or in addition to, yelling. For the most part though, it's just a nonstop torrent of high pitched rambling and tantrums that we're supposed to think are funny because they're really petty and/or stupid along with the occasional reference to the gacha crap this thing is based on. Like… I expected something awesome, but got crap! Truly the subversion of expectations that makes for great comedy.

At best, it's exhausting. I would say that it at least jumps past character introductions to get to things, but it literally starts with a straight up info dump about the world and setting, and takes time out to explain goddamned every basic concept it can, including but not limited to basic capitalism. Not ironically. No. Of course not. We need to review how you pay money to have people do jobs for you. And despite not leaving a single open second to give my poor ears a rest, I'm not sure for the life of me that I could say I know damn near anything about the characters or (non) story, especially nothing that would make me stick around. There's only two modes; hyperactive spasmodic ninny, or deadpan ninny. Guess which one took up about 95% of the time.

I liked this one, it was dumb but in an armless way, it is selfaware and felt like a proper parody.
