Unbreakable Machine Doll #09 — British Surströmming

Isn’t that a safety risk?
Impressions:
Oh boy. The identical not-twin sister. Wandering around being comically suicidal, except when it’s not supposed to be a joke and should be taken seriously. When? Flip a coin. Heads, laugh. Tail, be emotional or something. Other than those bits of uncomfortable nonsense and a few hi-larious jokes about (exceptionally tiny) panties and being a pervert, no big surprises here. Another introductory episode for the new arc, which means that it’s time to go back to meandering between NPCs getting blabbered at, in the futile hope that I’ll retain a tenth of this next week after half-napping through all the blathering heads. Somehow, I think carpet bombing with a dragon and suicidal sister is all I’ll remember, and even that’s pushing it considering how uninteresting both were being. You don’t need to devote entire episodes to exposition, people. You can build your greater plot while still having structure and purpose self-contained to the episode, guys. It’s not going to kill you.

I’m impressed by how each new arc manages to be worse than the previous one. I guess this was bound to happen since the formula doesn’t go beyond “add new pointless girl to the gang”. Which is still better than Loki.
