Hidden God #04 — Goto Overload

January 28th, 2010

Okay, now I’m really tired of her voice.

Impressions:

It’s vaguely unsettling to hear Yuko Goto twice in a row. I’ve never held a particularly high opinion of her abilities to begin with, and using the exact same voice here for Kaori as she’s using for Hiro certainly isn’t changing that. Anyway, not a whole ton happens this week until the last couple minutes when things finally get moving. Granted, not moving very far, but at least Hiro’s taking his first couple babysteps into realizing that losing his virginity to an older man may not be his greatest issue. Of course, he also completely forgot about the sister that he left waiting in a wheelchair on top of a hill at night. I wonder if the writers forgot about her too.

In any case, Issei goes a little bit crazier since he’s not on his pills anymore and almost eats some underclassman of his that shows up and confesses her love. That wouldn’t have any uncomfortable homosexual pedophilia overtones though, so she gets to leave without even being groped. Hiro then witnesses the execution of one of the monsters, but the area is completely cleaned up by the time he drags someone back. You would think that the werevampires in the town would have understood the whole "fall in love equals dying" thing by now. It’s a wonder that they ever live long enough to breed. Or maybe they just gnaw off their mate’s heads after the act… which I suppose raises other more disturbing questions about what exactly Issei is trying to do to Hiro.

God, will the pedophile die already?

Actually Mana can get home on her own quite good XD
You know…people in wheelchairs don’t need other people pushing them to get around.

    • Aroduc says:

At night in a city full of werevampires and hunter-killer wolves?

      • Nanaya says:

Actually, I think she would have a better chance than Hiro. Wheels + hill + gravity make for damn fast movement, although I would pay to see her try to stop (probably involves a wall).

      • chounokoe says:

Yeah because you see people in wheelchairs crashing into walls all the time…honestly, now I know how they build doors, they just let wheelchair bound people drive into walls *sarcasm*

Maybe the anime portrayed it not that well, but she goes to school on her own, goes around the house on her own…

      • Nanaya says:

I was referring to her trying to stop her wheelchair while going >30mph after retreating downhill at full speed.

  • Tremere says:

Just like Ga-Rei Zero, her wheelchair might have some nice surprises.

  • skurai says:

With this type of series I can already see that you will never be able to make a title like: Vampires come everybody dies, considering how boring and slow it is.
PS When will the homophobic pedophile die indeed.

  • Nazarielle says:

So I’m not the only one who gets tired of her wheezing huh? I figured I’d hate her in Hidamari, but I found I didn’t mind her that much as Hiro.
