Touhou Sky Arena Kurenai OP/Demo

May 5th, 2012

Oh right, it’ll be Comiket season in a couple months. Time to start paying attention to doujin game sites again for anything that pops my interest. Apparently here, they announced a whole crapload of characters for the expansion when I wasn’t paying attention. Oh well, I’m mostly interested in the game for the OST at this point. I just wish Lion Heart would get around to putting up more info on Tempest of Heaven and Earth. Tasofro also completely redid their page with another Touhou theme replacing the Madoka/Grief Syndrome one, but has yet to actually announce anything. Who knows. Maybe Freudenstachel and Territoire will finally come out this year. Ha.

C80: Touhou Sky Arena Expansion And Assorted Affairs

August 4th, 2011

Honestly, I didn’t really have much luck finding almost anything that looked particularly interesting game-wise for this upcoming Comiket by browsing through the catalog. It didn’t help that everything Touhou related is off in its own area these days. I almost miss when every other game was based on Kanon instead. There are a lot of trials, as well as the occasional thing that makes zero sense whatsoever, but Ten Desires, Tasofro’s Grief Syndrome and Aja’s Big Bang Beat Revolve are really the only full games that’ve caught my eye so far. Even for Touhou Sky Arena, I’m more interested in the OST than the Panty Shot Tengu and Sanae expansion… and Aja’s Scarlet Symphony 2 artbook for that matter. Hopefully something will surprise me.

Touhou Sky Arena — Final Version Promo

February 24th, 2011

Some days there’s just too much going on… and this is not counting MM’s DVD special or the SPN OVA which are also theoretically out, not to mention Kamidori’s trial sitting here staring at me… Anyway, now that I think about it, I never did get a chance to check out the C79 demo for this. Looks like a fairly unsurprising cast though. It also does look like it’s been sped up a little more from their earlier promos, but I could just be imagining things. Seeing all the meters on the top and side still gives me a headache. I do like the voicework on this more than Touhou Sky Fight although some of the music is over… mechay? Is that a word? It is now. Full version will go on sale March 13th.

C79: Touhou Sky Arena Trial PV, Scarlet Symphony II Updated Trial/PV

December 25th, 2010

I was really hoping Area-Zero would improve on MBA’s engine a little more than this. A lot more than this actually. Maybe I’m just not seeing some subtle differences, but to me, it looks like they just added some blur/after-image effects and slapped in a few new models. Nothing else of major note except random screenshots being posted for the past couple days unless you count Souvenir Circ uploading the world’s biggest waste of a PV ever or AQLoop showing that they have absolutely no idea how breasts work. Edit: Of course, one hour later, Aja has to post a ton of sort-of-new SSII stuff. Curse you, Aja!

Touhou Sky Arena Announced

December 9th, 2010

Okay, so maybe this announcement is a month late, but they only actually put up the site… uh… a week ago. Shut up! *ahem* From the makers of Magical Battle Arena comes the oh so creatively titled Touhou Sky Arena, built on a refined version of the same engine but with at least half a dozen more bars and gauges. It’s like Reimu really is a jet now. Or something… Only Reimu and Marisa are confirmed so far, but it’s a safe bet that most of the cast from Touhou Sky Fight will be returning. The trial will be on sale at Winter Comiket this year.
